All participants will receive an XTERRA branded, technical shirt from Icebreaker (value $85), as well as a Custom XTERRA Buff (value $20), Rocky Mountain Soap and other goodies from our generous sponsors. Top finishers will receive special awards.

Along with closing the street and bringing in a groomed ski track for Friday, February 10th through Monday the 13th there are many other events happening downtown as part of the Canmore Winter Carnival which runs from February 10th through 20th.

Carnival activities will include: Public Skiing with a FREE Ski Loan program from Trail Sports, Kid' n' Mutt Races, Fast and Female events, Ice and Snow Carving, Fun Challenge Races, Jackrabbit and Biathlon Bear races, Para Nordic Experiences, Biathlon Alberta Demonstration Trailer, Street Hockey and Welcoming Ceremonies.

As a part of the Winter Carnival the XTERRA Canmore Winter Triathlon will kick off on Sunday, February 12 at 2 p.m. with a 500m pool swim at the Canmore Recreation Centre. Participants will then have the opportunity to change into dry clothing and transition to a 3.5km run on snow and/or ice covered trails. After completing the run segment of the event racers will transition to a 3km Nordic ski on the Main Street ski track - choice of classic or skate techniques.

The XTERRA Canmore Winter Triathlon is open to all ages and abilities. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to participate. Gather up friends and family and enter our team category.
